Biodegradable
100% Phosphate free (Phosphorus is a fertilizer that causes algae to grow and depletes oxygen out of the water)
When phosphates end up in lakes and rivers (usually as runoff), they promote rapid and unnatural plant and algae growth, killing off other aquatic life.
Excessive algae growth can jeopardize the life cycle of rivers, lakes and streams. Sending them on an accelerated path to someday becoming dry land.
By not using phosphates in our products, we are helping to keep waterways in a healthy balance.Dye and fragrance free

HEALTH:
Many people have allergies or skin sensitivities which react badly to normal laundry detergents which are generally full of perfumes, dyes, and fillers. Watkins Laundry detergent has none of those things!
When your washer finishes rinsing the first time, your clothes will have no detergent left in them. Others have residue even after 2 rinses or more.
Uses Oxyegenated Bleach not Chlorine!
Chlorine Bleach(aka sodium hypochlorite): an all-purpose whitening agent, can irritate the lungs and eyes and can become toxic in waterways.
USAGE:
While many companies are making their scoops larger, Watkins has made this one even smaller, they say for one front loading machines use 1 scoop (1/8 of a cup), and for top loading machines, use 2 scoops. However, we have found that one is sufficient with our top loading, large capacity machine. One scoop per use will give you 80 loads from one box! If you have really hard water you might need to use two, but work your way up, if necessary. You'll almost for sure find it washes great with one scoop and will save you money. If you find you need two scoops, you still get 40 loads per box!
Formulated to work in the new HE washing machines with 1 scoop.
Great to use for baby's clothes and bedding, babies don't need to be exposed to all those perfumes and chemicals in other brands. Even the typical 'baby' soaps and detergents are full of chemicals and perfume, not to mention over-priced.
If you think about it, your clothes and bed linens are in almost constant contact with your skin. Who wants them loaded with perfumes and chemicals?
It's a water softener, fabric softener, detergent all in one!
Not only do you save money on cleaner clothes using Watkins Laundry Detergent, but you will also save money on your clothes since there's less wear and tear on them with fewer rinse cycles and no fillers, phosphates, dyes, and perfumes to damage the fabric!
HERE'S WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT WATKINS LAUNDRY
Several years ago, my son had a bloody nose on the way to MN for a christmas visit. We had nothing handy, so I pulled a gray tshirt from my suitcase and we used that to stop the bleeding. Well, after christmas was over, the tshirt ended up buried under a car seat and forgotten about for several months. When I did finally find it, I thought "oh great! this shirt is ruined!" But I asked my oldest son to put it in the wash to soak with several other items. Him being a teenager, well, he didn't soak as directed and the washer just went through its normal cycle with Watkins Laundry Detergent in the water and guess what? Not a SINGLE stain was left on the tshirt!

After Randy's detergent demo, I was cleaning up and poured the two glasses into the sink and gave them a quick rinse, so I could throw them in the dishwasher. The Watkins Laundry Detergent glass, emptied fine. The Tide glass still had detergent, so I ran water into it - the bottom of the glass, about a quarter inch, was full of slushy detergent that didn't want to come out. I started to run a sponge into it and decided I didn't want that in my dish sponge so I got a paper towel to get it out. It sure didn't want to come out with running water!

It simply makes sense to buy Watkins products. Not only are they better quality, they are better for you and your family, and they save you money because you use less.
Sometimes the simplest concepts are the hardest to grasp. People view the 'high' cost of an item and cannot see beyond the inital cost to the savings it will yield because you use less.
I know the Watkins Laundry Detergent is what sold my husband. We do our laundry at a laundromat and one day he realized that we were still using from the same box of detergent we had been using for a long time. I don't think he realized until then how much we were actually saving using the Watkins products. Then he began looking around more and realizing that some of the items were ones I had purchased some time ago and were still using. The Black Pepper, Soup Bases, and other seasonings last a long time even when used frequently.
